Jess Reduced-Sodium Soy Sauce

Even though sodium is not directly tied to cholesterol, it is definitely connected to heart health. This sauce gives you real soy sauce flavor while holding the sodium to a level that should fit in most people’s diets.

Ingredients:

4 tablespoons (24 g) sodium-free beef bouillon
1/4 cup (60 ml) cider vinegar
2 tablespoons (30 ml) molasses
1 1/2 cups (355 ml) boiling water
1/8 teaspoon (0.3 g) black pepper
1/8 teaspoon (0.2 g) ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon (0.8 g) garlic powder
1/4 cup (60 ml) reduced-sodium soy sauce

Directions:

Combine ingredients, stirring to blend thoroughly. Pour into jars. Cover and seal tightly. Keeps indefinitely if refrigerated.
