This is a quick sandwich meal that will cook while you are out. Small children and teenagers seem to like this too, so it’s great for a party or family get-together.
1 1/2 pounds (680 g) extra-lean ground beef (93% lean)
1 onion, chopped
1 cup (240 g) low sodium ketchup
1 green bell pepper, chopped
2 tablespoons (30 g) brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon (1.5 g) garlic powder
2 tablespoons (30 g) prepared mustard
3 tablespoons (45 ml) vinegar
1 tablespoon (15 ml) Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon (2.6 g) chili powder
In a skillet, brown beef and onion. Drain. Stir together remaining ingredients in slow cooker. Stir in meat and onion mixture. Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours.
